Abi McGillivray Architecture remains open and busy. Thank you to my wonderful clients who we’ve kept in contact with through email and Facetime meetings; and been so patient and understanding when work on site has been stopped or delayed due to Coronavirus lockdown restrictions. I’m pleased to say that all our projects currently under construction are now back on site with distancing and protection measures in place and supply chains for materials gradually coming back into place. Meanwhile, Purdy the office filing cat is as happy as ever!!

7th February 2020

Went to visit clients to see their recently completed tight little project in Frome. We upgraded an existing cold, poorly built lean-to extension by replacing the roof and a new fully glazed courtyard facade.   The playful tilting roof line creates added height and space internally while protecting the neighbours adjacent window and right to light.  Beautifully finished in cedar shingles. Builder – Jason Murphy 

30th November 2019

Start on site this week, new house extension in Frome. Taking down the old lean-to, to make way for the new extension and new stairs. Contractor: Andrew Doel Building & Installations

Preliminary Contract on site for new dwelling. Site cleared. Construction of new rubble stone boundary wall in progress. Contractor; Bluefish Contracting Ltd.

At last, Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent in today for alterations and change of use application at the Foresters Arms in Beckington.

12th September 2019

Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent approval in today for new house extension and alterations to Grade II Listed building.
